Deer Hunting

Meriwether County is under State Quality Deer Management (QDM). All bucks harvested must have a minimum of four points, 1 inch or longer, on one side of the antlers. For the past 20 years here at Big Red Oak Plantation, we have taken it a step further and limited bucks to at least an eight point or better with a 15" spread (inside spread, outside of ears).

2024-25 hunts will begin booking after Jan 1, 2024. Call the club house for current pricing packages and to book your hunt.

All hunts include lodging, meals, professional guide and  transportation to and from stand. Prices listed are per person, a 50% deposit is due when hunt is booked. 60 day advance notice on refunds. In case of emergency you may substitute another hunter or hunt at a later date within the same hunting season. 

Limits- 2 or 3 day hunt----4 deer (1 buck and 3 does

Button bucks (antlers showing) count towards limit and will be assessed a $1000 trophy fee. A $1000 fine will be assessed for any buck taken under the QDM standards. All bucks must have 8 points or better with a 15" spread (inside spread, outside of ears). Deer shot and lost count towards limit. 

A Georgia Big Game License is required to hunt deer an is the responsibility of the hunter to obtain this license prior to hunt. License can be purchased at the pro shop with a valid credit card. 

Father/son or Father/Daughter Hunts

Children must be 12 to 16 years of age to hunt. They must hunt with parent or guardian from one stand. The child hunts for half price. Only one limit applies. 

Corporate hunts and combination packages (deer, quail, pheasant, and sporting clays) with discounts are available. 

Prices do not include GA sales tax, gratuities, or game processing
